Here’s a two-parted Sunday Scribbling.

Prompt #232 “Treatment”

The Silent Treatment

Seven Years Later

He looked nearly completely unaffected, sitting across from her at the sunny diner. Gold flecked the worn teal formica tabletop, her coffee cup making a wide brown arc on the crisp napkin.

His hands were folded in front of him on the table; long fingers calloused and scarred at nearly every joint.

She sat idly running a fingertip along the rim of her mug.

The brown of their eyes met- so alike, yet so very, very different. Hers a warm, sweet caramel, staring for a thousand yards. His a dark walnut, looking elsewhere, aloof with half lids.

Jam Hands

Jam Hands. In all caps.
All black with lint; brown with dirt
Made clean: diaper wipes

    Love the Jam Hands. Diaper wipes solve a multitude of stickies!

    I really like The Silent Treatment. The little details, the formica table top and the coffee stain, put me there. And the description of the eyes make me want to know more about these two people! Nice!
