Monster Post of Wedding Pictures

September 5, 2010

First off, I want to say how very, very proud of Jeff and Dori I am for their wonderful wedding. They stuck to their budget (as much as anyone does!) and pulled off a beautiful, intimate wedding with ease and grace.

This was also the first Deaf-Friendly wedding that I have been honored to be a part of. Dori herself and all of her siblings (Cindi, Marci, Tristi, Donny and Andi) are bi-lingual, Sign being their second. Their parents, Don and Alene are deaf as well as many of their extended family.

Starting with the pre-wedding

I didn’t get many pictures of the ceremony. I was busy bawling my eyes out. The best part was at the end when everyone said the Lord’s Prayer and the whole wedding party started signing it with a quarter of the church and the rest of us said it aloud. It was a really moving moment. Dori had only her sisters stand up with her and watching them all sign together was really magical.

This, however was the picture I did get in the middle of the ceremony. Jeff and Dori were adamant that Kat be allowed to do what she wanted during the ceremony in order to keep her quiet, so this is what she did.

And…the afters!
